Namibe, Angola, 29 June – Italy plans to re-establish cooperation with Angola in the fishing sector, via businesses from the two countries, the first secretary for the Italian embassy in Angola, Cláudio Martinello said Tuesday in Namibe.
Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, at the end of a visit to Namibe province, the diplomat said that his country wanted to continue cooperating with Angola in the fishing sector, above all in the municipality of Tombwa, through partnerships.
Martinello also said that bilateral relations were long-standing through Italian companies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
He said that five Italian NGOs worked across almost the whole of Angola in the agriculture, environment, livestock, human rights, education and health sectors.
He said that this year Italy planned to support projects that were underway, notably those funded by the European Union. (macauhub)
