Australian mining company Mozambi Coal starts coal prospecting in Mozambique

Maputo, Mozambique, 7 July – Australian mining company Mozambi Coal Ltd. last May began its coal prospecting operation at its two concession areas in Tete, Mozambique, the company’s chief executive, Shiv Madan said in Maputo.

Madan also said that the company would start mining coking and thermal coal at the two concessions known as Tete Ocidental (West Tete) and Muturara where there are estimated reserves of 216-270 million tons at the former concession and 2.88/3.60 billion tons at the latter.

Prospecting operation are being carried out by a company called Aquaterra, the Mozambican subsidiary of South Africa’s Geosearch Inc. and, according o the schedule included in the latest presentation to investors, are expected to be finished by the end of August. (macauhub)
