First Angola Tourism Fair to be held in 2012

Luanda, Angola, 22 July – The first edition of the annual Angola Tourism Fair will be in 2012, under the terms of an agreement signed by the deputy minister for Hotels and Tourism, Paulino Baptista, and by the chairman of the Luanda International Fair (FIL), Matos Cardoso, Angolan state newspaper Jornal de Angola reported.

The deputy minister said that the fair aimed to promote the tourism sector in Angola and added, “We want it to be as representative as possible, and to involve the participation of all the provinces.”

With the support of the National Tourism Promotion Institute, the Ministry and FIL plan to work together in order to attract the participation of a large number of tourism sector operators, to promote Angola’s tourist potential, Baptista said.

Cardoso said that the tourism sector was an industry that employed people from all social strata and created a large number of jobs, “and is a great tool to ensure the country’s sustainable development.” (macauhub)
