Macau, China, 22 July – Macau’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) posted a year-on-year rise of 5.65 percent in June when teh CPI rose 0.76 percent against the previous month, the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau said.
Against June, 2010, there were significant rises in the categories of Miscellaneous Products and Services (9.69 percent), Transport (9.32 percent), and Food and non-Alcoholic Drinks (7.52 percent).
In the first half of 2011, the CPI rose 5.13 percent against the same period of 2010, and the most significant increases were seen in the categories of Transport (8.55 percent), Miscellaneous Products and Services (8.27 percent), and Food and non-Alcoholic Drinks (6.65 percent).
The inflation rate in June, measured as the average variation over the last 12 months against the preceding 12 months, totalled 4.34 percent. (macauhub)
