Finibanco Angola to carry out capital increase of US$30 million

Lisbon, Portugal, 27 July – Finibanco Angola, which is 60 percent-owned by Portuguese financial group Montepio Geral and 40 percent by local investors is due soon to carry out a capital increase of US$30 million, the chairman of the Portuguese bank, Tomás Correia said.

“Angola is a successful operation and we are very comfortable. Our aim is now to open up more branches, especially in the country’s district capitals, as well as increasing the capital by another US$30 million,” he told Portuguese news agency Lusa.

“We are working to carry out [the operation that will increase the bank’s share capital to US$50 million] as quickly as possible,” the banker said, noting that, “Finibanco has developed the operation in a very interesting way.” (macauhub)
