Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, 2 Aug – Brazilian aeronautical manufacture Empresa Brasileira de Aeronaútica (Embraer) posted net profit of 153.8 million reals in the second quarter of this year, which was a rise of 51.2 percent compared to the 101.7 million posted in the same quarter of 2010.
Profit in the first six months of the year totalled 328.1 million reals.
A statement from the company said that, “the signs of recovery in commercial aviation resulted in 62 new e-Jet orders.”
In the first six months of 2011, Embraer delivered 45 ERJ 145 and e-Jet commercial jets. The aircraft manufacturer sold 62 new e-Jets, which took its total firm orders to 1,003 and 742 deliveries over the last seven years.
Embraer increased its turnover target for 2011 to US$5.8 billion from US$5.6 billion previously.
Its earnings before tax and interest forecast rose to US$465 million. (macauhub)
