Portuguese company from Alentejo plans to start business in Mozambique and start exporting to Hong Kong

Estremoz, Portugal, 3 Aug – Portuguese olive oil company SICA, based in Estremoz, in the Alentejo region, plans to do business in the Mozambican market and to start exporting to Hong Kong according to a report from Portuguese news agency Lusa.

Rui Nobre dos Santos, managing partner of Sociedade Industrial e Comercial de Azeites (SICA), said that practically the company’s entire production (around 99 percent) was channelled for export, mainly to Canada, the United States, Australia, Brazil, Angola, Macau and several European Union countries.

According to Santos, in 2010 the company produced around 1.2 million litres of olive oil, and is this year expected to produce a similar amount. (macauhub)
