Praia, Cape Verde, 5 Aug – The National Statistics Institute (INE) of Cape Verde plans in 2011 to work on a strategy to produce agricultural statistics in Cape Verde the president of INE told Cape Verdean news agency Inforpress.
The president of INE said that in partnership with the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the Ministry for Rural Development (MDR), INE would work on setting up a system of continuous data collection for agricultural statistics this year.
According to the president of INE it has been agreed that some activities would soon be implemented on the ground with the support of the two institutions to develop agricultural statistics in Cape Verde.
“It is based on the strategy of collection information that we will establish whether it is necessary to carry out the Agricultural Census in 2014 or before then,” said Duarte.
The Ministry for Rural Development has set 2014 as the date to carry out the Agricultural Census in Cape Verde. (macauhub)
