Luanda, Angola, 5 Aug – A total of 53 industrial units, accounting for investment of US$323.4 million, are due to start operating in the Viana Special Economic Zone (SEZ) (ZEE), in Luanda, Angola, creating 1,894 jobs, according to a government report on the first quarter of 2011 cited by Angolan news agency Angop.
The factories will manufacture fencing, electrical materials, PVC pipes, paints and varnishes, irrigation equipment, optical fibres, as well as plastics, mortar, bricks, roof tiles and bathroom fittings.
The factories will be owned by Asperbras, with 50 percent, and to Dong Feng, Hepta/IBM, Ultrasat, Overseas, Bel Overseas Intl and Medical Devices.
The Viana Special Economic Zone, the report said, already ahs 14 units concluded, which are ready to start operating according to Angop. (macauhub)
