Maputo, Mozambique, 11 Aug – The number of exhibitors interested in taking part in the 47th edition of the Maputo International Fair (Facim), which will take place in Marracuene district this year, has exceeded expectations as all the pavilions have been reserved, the event’s organisers said.
João Macaringue, chairman of Mozambique’s Export Promotion Institute (Ipex) said that, as well as all available space having been taken up, both by national and foreign companies, there was a waiting list with another 30 potential exhibitors.
Cited by Mozambican newspaper Notícias, Macaringue said that, despite all the space having been taken up, the registration for potential exhibitors would continue as the deadline ends on 15 August.
The new venue for Facim is currently undergoing additional work consisting of construction and finishing work on restaurant and leisure areas and setting up lighting and decoration, after the main work was carried out beginning on 1 April and took 120 days.
As well as being used for traditional exhibitions, Facim will also be a leisure and entertainment venue, particularly for children’s events at the weekend. (macauhub)
