29 August 2011

Maputo, Mozambique, 29 Aug – The 47th edition of the Maputo International Fair (Facim 2011) opens its doors Monday for the first time outside the capital of Mozambique, at its new venue in Ricatla, Marracuene district, some 30 kilometres from Maputo.

The opening of the fair coincides with exhibitors’ day, a ceremony at which companies established in Mozambique and which have been most notable in exporting national products will be honoured.

Facim is the biggest business fair in Mozambique and one of the most important in the region, and is thus the best time for trade exchanges between exhibitors from Mozambique and those from other parts of the world.

This year the fair will be attended by companies from 17 countries, specifically South Africa, Angola, Argentina, Botswana, Brazil, China, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Malawi, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Kenya, Thailand, Tanzania and Zambia as well as the Macau Special Administrative Region.

A total of 1,078 national and 60 foreign companies confirmed their presence at the fair, which is more than the total of 1,574 companies that took part last year. (macauhub)
