Luanda, Angola, 12 Sept – The 3rd edition of the Angola International Mining Fair (FIMA 2011) is scheduled for 22 to 25 September, at the Filda facilities in Luanda and around 80 exhibiting companies, the event’s director Francisco de souse said.
Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, Francisco de Sousa said that the exhibition’s partner was the Ministry for Geology, Mining and Industry and involved mining, management and development companies, concession management, engineering and information technology companies for the energy sector, amongst others.
The event, he added, aimed to promote the country’s mining potential along with the re-launch of diamond production, to launch new products, and to present technological solutions, particularly those capable of increasing the sector’s international competitiveness.
“FIMA 2011 also aims to exchange information involving association from the sector and its active economic agents, as well as the presentation of the sector’s strategic plan to society,” he said.
Co-organised by the Luanda International Fair (FIL) and the Ministry for Geology, Mining and Industry, The Angola International Mining Fair has been re-launched this year after a three-year break due to the world financial and economic crisis. (macauhub)
