Maputo, Mozambique, 14 Sept – A factory to produce ethanol from cassava is under construction in the Dondo municipal area, in the Mozambican central province of Sofala, and is due to start operating in March the area’s mayor told Mozambican daily newspaper Diário de Moçambique.
Speaking to the newspaper, Manuela Cambezo said that the factory’s location was currently being levelled and gave no details about the project’s production capacity or its costs.
The project belongs to Clean Star Mozambique, Lda, and is part of a programme called, “Integrated food agri-processing facility. Crushing of oil-producing plants and production of kitchen fuel.”
“For us it is a benefit to have this type of project as it encourages rural workers to increase their production areas,” said Cambezo. (macauhub)
