Praia, Cape Verde, 16 Sept – The 3rd Cape Verde International Construction and Housing Fair (FICH), which is due to be held from 7 to 9 October aims to contribute to the country’s economic development, according to its organisers.
Organised by the Cape Verde Ministry for the Environment, Housing and Land Planning and by the FIC – Cape Verde Duty Free and Commercial Zone, the third edition of the event aims to encourage the incorporation of new technologies and construction materials to the archipelago, to give priority to social housing and to control costs in the quality of life of the population.
Alongside the fair business meetings will be held in partnership with national real estate promoters and working meetings to analyse the development of construction in the country.
The event is aimed at companies that operate in the construction materials, construction technology and computerisation techniques, air conditioning, electrification, safety and communications facilities, architecture, design, renewable energy, hydraulic infrastructures, machinery and equipment, amongst others.
At the 2010 edition, FICH was attended by 94 companies, 12 more than in the 1st edition, of which 36 were foreign companies from countries such as Portugal, Brazil, the Netherlands and Spain (Canary Islands). (macauhub)
