IMF revises Guinea Bissau’s economic growth upwards to 5.3 pct this year

Bissau, Guinea Bissau, 21 Sept – The Guinea Bissau economy is expected to post growth of 5.3 percent this year according to a projection from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that added one percentage point to a projection made six months ago.

The new projection was made public Tuesday in Bissau ay the end of a mission to the country that began on 8 September, the third mission as part of the Extended Credit Facility (ECF).

The next mission to Guinea Bissau is scheduled for December when the IMF is due to hand over US$3.658 billion to Guinea Bissau. (macauhub)
