6 October 2011

Sao Paulo, Brazil, 6 Oct – China Chongqing Shineray Motorcycle Company plans to start producing some of its motorcycles in the Suape industrial complex, in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco, the director of the company’s Brazilian subsidiary, Paulo Perez said.

Cited by the Brazilian pres, Perez said that Pernambuco would assemble trikes and motorcycles with 200 cc and 50 cc engines and initial production would be 150,000 units per year.

“Initially the parts will come from China and assembled locally and supplies of parts by Brazilian companies very much depends on the market,” noted the director of Shineray Motorcycle, adding that the biggest advantage would be reducing the five months between manufacturing the parts in China and their arrival in Brazil.

Shineray Motorcycle is investing 100 million reals (US$54 million) in the industrial complex in Pernambuco, which is the group’s first outside China, and the investment is expected to be returned within six years. (macauhub)
