Chinese group JAC Motors announces construction of factory in Bahia, Brazil

Bahia, Brasil, 10 Oct – Chinese automotive company JAC has announced it plans to install its Brazilian factory in the Camaçari municipality of the state of Bahia and invest around 900 million reals.

The region already has car parts factories as because of a Ford factory in that Brazilian state.

JAC Motors expects to manufacture 100,000 cars per year as of 2014.

The new factory will create 3,500 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs.

Brazil is currently the second biggest international market for JAC Motors.

Last week Chinese group Chery also confirmed it would build a car manufacturing plant in Jacareí, in the interior of Sao Paulo state, costing 1.2 billion reals. (macauhub)
