Praia, Cape Verde, 12 Oct – Cape Verde’s airports and aerodromes handled over 1.3 million passengers between January and September, which represented year-on-year growth of 10.3 percent, Empresa Nacional de Aeroportos e Segurança Aérea (Asa) said.
According to figures published by ASA, all airport facilities in the country performed positively, notably in the area of international traffic, which rose by 16.7 percent, which was far more than domestic traffic, which increased by 4.9 percent in the same period.
Sal airport remained the most used airport, particularly in terms of international traffic, and at Praia airport domestic traffic continued to exceed international traffic.
ASA also said that air cargo had posted a drop of 3 percent in the third quarter, but over the first nine months growth totalled 7.5 percent to 2,900 tons. (macauhub)
