Luanda, Angola, 14 Oct – Angolan companies AMR and Ferrangol expect to produce, as of 2013, around 3 million tons of iron concentrate per year, the chairman of Ferrangol, Diamantino Azevedo said Thursday in Luanda.
During the inauguration of the Ferrangol headquarters, which cost 300 million kwanzas (US$3.1 million), Azevedo said that production could, in subsequent years, total up to 30 million tons of concentrate.
The chairman of Ferrangol also said that the company planed to build two steelmaking units in Huíla province with joint production of 400,000 tons per year.
Azevedo also said that Ferrangola already had three approved mining projects, in the provinces of Huíla and Kwanza Norte.
Ferrangol is an Angola-based company focused on mining metals such as iron, magnesium, copper and nickel. (macauhub)
