Business deals at 16th Macau International Fair total 5 million patacas

Macau, China, 24 Oct – The business deals done at the 16th Macau International Fair (MIF) totalled 5 million patacas, or 25 percent more than in the 2010 edition, according to English-language newspaper The Macau Post Daily.

The organizer of the fair, the Macau Institute for Promotion of Trade and Investment said (IPIM) said that the 16th edition of MIF involved 850 exhibitors from mainland China, from Macau and over 60 countries and regions, and a total of 1,650 stands were set up.

Over the four days of the fair, IPIM said, protocols related to 81 projects were signed (30.65 percent more than in 2010, including 15 contracts, 51 agreements, 8 letters of intent and 7 memorandums, involving several sectors.

The parties that signed the contracts were from Macau (49.01 percent), mainland China (39.74 percent), Taiwan and Portuguese-speaking Countries (1.32 percent), Hong Kong (5.96 percent), Switzerland (0.66 percent) and Canada (0.66 percent).

The next edition of the MIF will be held from 18 to 21 October, 2012. (macauhub)
