Macau’s gross gaming revenues total US$27.650 billion in first ten months of 2011

Macau, China, 3 Nov – Gross gaming and gambling revenues in Macau totalled 221.200 billion patacas (US$27.650 billion) in the first ten months of 2011, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB) said.

According to figures published by the GICB, gross revenues from January to October grew year on year by 54.4 percent against the 152.106 billion patacas posted in the same period of 2010.

The year-on-year growth rate for accumulated gross revenues was similar to the rates posted since last February, which were a minimum of 40.4 percent in February and a maximum of 46.8 percent in August. In January the growth rate was 33.2 percent.

In October, gross gaming and gambling revenues totalled 26.851 billion patacas (US$3.356 billion), posting growth of 42.3 percent against the same month of 2010 and 26.4 percent against September of this year.

At the end of June, there were 34 casinos in Macau, 20 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, three by Venetian Macau, five by Galaxy Casino, three by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau) and one each by Wynn Resorts and MGM Grand Paradise. (macauhub)
