Praia, Cape Verde, 7 Nov – Cape Verde is taking part from Monday for the seventh time in the World Travel Market, one of the tourism sector’s largest fair, held in London, the Cape Verdean press reported.
Cape Verde will take part in the international fair with its own Cabo Verde Investimentos (CI) stand, which will be shared with a number of companies that promote the country directly, specifically hotels, real estate agencies and flagship airline TACV.
The stand, which will cover 24 square metres, has a design that promotes Cape Verde in a positive way, said the chief executive of CI, Nuno Miguel Martins, who noted that of the 381,000 tourists that travelled to the archipelago in 2010, 20 to 25 percent were from the United Kingdom.
“We want to have a constant presence, consolidate this market and further increase the number of entries and overnight stays by the British in our country,” said Martins, adding that, with this participation in the fair, CI would present institutional information about tourism and investments in Cape Verde.
