Luanda, Angola, 15 Nov – Angolan bank Banco Africano de Investimentos (BAI) has officially changed its name to Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI) as of Monday, the bank said in a statement issued in Luanda.
In the statement, the marketing department said that the new name of BAI was due to the need to promote the name of the country, be a brand that represents the values of Angola and create an identity that identifies the bank as having its decision-making centre in Angola.
The change was also due to another foreign bank having the same name, which is owned by the governments of African countries.
Founded on 14 November, 1996, BAI has branches in all of Angola’s provincial capitals and a total of 85 branches, five business centres and 10 service points, which totals 100 points of service and 390,000 customers.
BAI currently operate sin Europe, via BAI Europa, in Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Príncipe and has a representative office in South Africa. (macauhub)
