Luanda, Angola, 2 Dec – Angola’s Group of Angolan Business Leaders (LIDE) organisation was officially launched Thursday in Luanda in a ceremony attended by personalities linked to the economy and other sectors, Angolan news agency Angop reported.
The chairman of LIDE’s management commission, Leonel Pinto said that Angola was the first African country to become part of LIDE, an organisation that aims to introduce good management practices in Angola, particularly principles of business ethics and governance.
Pinto also said that the rules for selecting businesspeople to become members of the organisation had been established and that within 70 days it would present that strategy to be followed according to the standard set by the international commission.
“Using this organisation we are going to try to promote events that can help Angola to develop across its sectors,” he noted.
In his turn, speaking about the importance of business cooperation in economic development, economist Alves da Rocha said that essential factors for Angola in this area were best use of natural resources, the construction materials industry and expansion of the domestic market.
As well as Brazil, the LIDE organisation has units in Argentina, Chile, Portugal, and since Thursday in Angola. (macauhub)
