Maputo, Mozambique, 27 Dec – Bananas exported from the Mozambican central and southern provinces are expected in 2011 to provide income of around US$50 million, according to projections from the Confederation of Mozambican Economic Associations (CTA).
António Gomes, CTA’s vice president for Agri-Business said that exports to South Africa and the European Union were expected to total 100,000 tons of bananas.
Bananas are produced by eight Mozambican companies employing 4,000 staff. (macauhub)
