Pan-China Construction Group finishes structures of buildings in the new city of Dundo in Angola

Dundo, Angola, 29 Dec – Chinese company Pan-China Construction Group Tuesday in the city of Dundo in Angola’s Lunda Norte province finished the structures of 419 buildings in the Samakaka area, Angolan news agency Angop reported Thursday.

According to the contractor the buildings in the new city will be habitable by the in the final quarter of 2012.

Work on the new city, called Samanyonga, which is made up of 365 five-storey buildings, 32 nine-storey buildings, 18 11-storey buildings and four 18-storey buildings began in April 2009 at the hands of the state Chinese company and is due to be finished in September 2012.

In March 2012 the city, which covers an area of 1.15 million square metres, will be asphalted and will receive its first residents in the fourth quarter of the year.

The construction project involves four phases and in each around 5,000 apartments with up to five bedrooms will be built, as well as social facilities such as nurseries, fire stations, schools, hospitals and leisure areas. (macauhub)
