Macau’s balance of trade deficit increases by 50.3 percent between January and November

Macau, China, 30 Sept – The Macau balance of trade posted an increase of 50.3 percent in the first 11 months of the year to 49.81 billion patacas (US$6.22 billion), according o figures published by the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau.

In the period, Macau’s exports fell 2.8 percent to 6.24 billion patacas (US$708 million).

Between January and November Macau imported goods worth 56.05 billion patacas (US$7 billion), which was an increase of 41.7 percent against the same period of 2010.

In the first 11 months of this year Macau imported 17.05 billion patacas in goods from mainland China and 13.96 billion patacas in goods from the European Union (EU) totalled 17.05 billion patacas and 13.96 billion patacas, with year-on-year rises of 38.0 percent and 59.5 percent, respectively.
