Macau, China, 4 Jan – Gross gaming and gambling revenues in Macau totalled 267.867 billion patacas (US$33.483 billion) in 2011, representing a year on year rise of 42.2 percent, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB) said.
The year-on-year growth rate for accumulated gross revenues at the end of the year was similar to that seen during the 12 months of 2011 and varied between 40.4 percent in February and 46.8 percent in August, with the exception of January which saw an increase of 33.2 percent.
In December, gamblers provided gross revenues of 23.608 billion patacas (US$2.951 billion), which was slightly more than the revenues of 23.058 billion seen in November.
At the end of the year, there were 34 casinos in Macau, 20 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, three by Venetian Macau, five by Galaxy Casino, three by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau) and one each by Wynn Resorts and MGM Grand Paradise. (macauhub)
