Brazilian food company Aurora Alimentos to send first shipment of pork to China

Sao Paulo, Brazil, 13 Jan – The first lot of pork that Coopercentral Aurora (Aurora Alimentos) will export to Chine is expected to be shipped next week, the deputy chairman of the cooperative, Neivor Canton said Thursday.

Speaking to trade newspaper DCI – Comércio, Indústria & Serviços, Canton said that starting with this first shipment exports would be weekly.

The exports are part of a deal signed by Brazil and China in April of 2011, allowing three Brazilian refrigeration units to ship meat to China – Aurora, of Santa Catarina state, a refrigeration unit of BrasilFoods, in Goiás state, and a unit of Marfrig in Rio Grande do Sul. (macauhub)
