Macau’s foreign reserves total US$34 billion at the end of 2011

Macau, China, 17 Jan – Macau’s foreign reserves totalled 272.4 billion patacas (US$34.03 billion) at the end of December 2011, having risen by 2.8 percent against figures for November, Macau’s Monetary Authority (AMCM) said.

The AMCM also said that when compared with reserves on 31 December, 2010, last year’s total represented an increase of 43.2 percent or 82.2 billion patacas (US$10 billion).

Foreign reserves at the end of last year represented 46 times monetary circulation in Macau or 360.1 percent of the M2 monetary aggregate in patacas at the end of November 2011. (macauhub)
