Chinese company starts construction of new Luanda General Hospital

Luanda, China, 18 Jan – The China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group Co, which is part of the China Railway Engineering Corporation group, has started construction of the new Luanda General Hospital (HGL) located in the municipal area of Kilamba Kiaxi.

According to official Angolan sources construction work on the new hospital, which will have 270 beds, will be finished by July, 2014.

According to the provincial director for Health in Luanda, Isabel Massocolo, the new HGL will be a building with several storeys.

The new hospital will replace the previous one built at the same location by the China Overseas Engineering Group Co., Ltd (COVEC) in 2006 and which was closed after construction faults were found that put the integrity of the building at risk. (macauhub)
