30 January 2012

Maputo, Mozambique, 30 Jan – Three international organisations plan to support a project to bolster artisanal fishing in Mozambique on the so-called Sofala bank, an area that covers the provinces of Zambézia, Sofala and Nampula, according to Mozambican daily newspaper Notícias.

The newspaper said that this project, which should benefit around 120,000 families in the coastal regions of those three provinces, would require investment of US$34.5 million both this year and in 2013.

The project has funding from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (FIDA), the African Development Bank, and the African Development Fund. (macauhub)
