Macau, China, 2 Feb – Gross gaming and gambling revenues in Macau totalled 25.040 billion patacas (US$3.075 billion) in January, rising 34.8 percent against the same month of 2011, the region’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB) said.
Revenues posted in January fell short of the record posted in October 2011, in which gamblers spent 26.851 billion patacas (US$3.298 billion) in Macau’s casinos.
In 2011 gross gaming and gambling revenues in Macau’s casinos totalled 267.867 billion patacas (US$32.904 billion).
At the end of the year, there were 34 casinos in Macau, 20 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, three by Venetian Macau, five by Galaxy Casino, three by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau) and one each by Wynn Resorts and MGM Grand Paradise. (macauhub)
