First Portugal construction and public works fair in Maputo, Mozambique

14 February 2012

Maputo, Mozambique, 14 Feb – The Mozambican capital Maputo will host from this Wednesday to Saturday Tektónica, the most important Portuguese fair for the construction and public works sector.

Fair director Jorge Oliveira told Portugal’s Lusa news agency that the aim is to create business opportunities for entrepreneurs from the two countries. Mozambique is a key market for Portuguese companies, “that’s why it will be the first Portuguese speaking African country to host Tektónica,” he said.

Nearly 80 companies from both countries will participate in the event. It is organised by the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP), which took a Portuguese business mission to Mozambique to get to know the market and make contacts for future commercial relations with Mozambican entrepreneurs.

“The AIP is arranging two professional events in Mozambique: the Tektónica fair and an agro-food fair. The aim is to give Mozambican and Portuguese professionals an opportunity for direct interaction,” Oliveira added.

The Tektónica fair has also organised an encounter of builders, contractors, property developers, investors and entities in charge of construction projects from the two countries. (macauhub)
