Luanda, Angola, 15 Feb – Angola will this year have a further nine airports operating that have been refurbished and modernised, the chairman of Angola’s national airport management company Enana said Monday.

During a ceremony to commemorate the company’s 32nd anniversary, Manuel Ceitas said that the airports in Soyo, Dundo, Uíge, Saurimo, Menongue, Luena, Cuito Cuanavale, Cuito (Bié) and Namibe were undergoing refurbishment and modernisation work that would be finished this year.

Ceitas also said that the domestic flight terminal at Luanda airport would also be refurbished and extended in order to increase its passenger capacity.

“As airports are one of the gateways into and out of any country it is very important that they are in good condition,” he said cited by Angolan news agency Angop.

Enana was founded on 13 February 1980 and is the responsibility of Angola’s Transport Ministry. (macauhub)
