Construction company Kora Angola gave assurances Wednesday that it would finish building 6,000 houses in the city of Kuito and 1,000 in Andulo, 130 kilometres north of the capital of Bié province in the first half of 2013 as agreed with the Angolan government.
The first 400 houses will be delivered to the population between June and August of 2012 and by the end of the year a further 1,100 will be finished.
Officials from Kora Angola said that after cleaning up the area and building the drainage and roads systems it had started building the houses.
In the area where the houses will be located the company has already installed pavements, sewers, a drinking water network, public lighting and other services.
Kora Angola is involved in a project to build 40,000 social houses in five Angolan provinces as part of the My Dream My House Programme launched by the Urbanism and Construction Ministry. (macauhub)
