Mozambique’s National Statistics Institute (INE) Wednesday launched a new website, which can be seen at the same web address as before: http://www.ine.gov.mz.
Setting up the new site, which started to be built last year, is part of the strategic plan for the National Statistics System (SEN) for the 2008-2012 period to respond to users’ needs for statistical information.
INE used funding from the African Development Bank in this process and one of the advantages of the new website is that it is based on more modern technology that allows for data searches, handling and analysis and thus makes decision-making easier.
The new website has seven sections of information that can be viewed as tables, maps and data analysis graphs.
Additionally, the website has a complementary area that provides news, a resources centre providing data, methodological documents, activity plans, reports and other documents, as well as links to other institutional sites and to the old INE website. (macauhub)
