Angolan diamond company Empresa Nacional de Diamantes de Angola (Endiama) plans to launch its diamond prospecting project in Moxico province, the company’s chairman Antonio Carlos Sumbula said Friday in Luena.
At the end of a visit, the chairman said that he had agreed with the governor of the province, João Ernesto dos Santos “Liberdade”, on the re-launch of diamond production, although this would begin with artisanal mining, as it is an important sector to boost employment.
Sumbula expects production to increase as a result of reconstruction of National Road 180 and the Benguela Railroad, which will improve Endiama’s business.
The chairman of the state diamond company noted that use of trains would improve transport of necessary materials, which are currently concentrated in the country’s coast. (macauhub)
