Angolan company plans to increase production and exports of ornamental stone

2 April 2012

Emanha, an Angolan company specialising in black granite processing in Huila province, this year has increased its production from 60,000 to 80,000 cubic metres of tiles and blocks, the owner-manager Henrique Resende dos Santos Carriço said Saturday.

Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop Santos Carriço said that the decision had been driven by greater demand for the product from the company’s main customers, both from Angola and abroad.

Emanha, which has two production lines, which cost an estimated US$10 million and employ 70 people, as well as black granite, also processes pink granite and a variety of limestone.

The products are exported to Portugal, Spain, Germany, and China.

Emanha’s ornamental stone processing factory started operating in 2002 and is located in industrial zone number 2 in Lubango. (macauhub)
