Chinese group Shiyan Yunlihong Industrial & Trade Co., Ltd. plans to build a factory to assemble light trucks and vans in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, the group’s chairman Bailing Xiang said in Porto Alegre Monday.
According to the Brazilian press, at the end of a meeting with some members of the state government, Bailing Xiang, who headed up a delegation of his group also said that the future factory would be the company’s first in Brazil.
Rio Grande do Sul is the preferred location of the Chinese group as it is the state with the second largest number of car parts manufacturers and one of the biggest in terms of the number of assembly plants in Brazil, and has a qualified workforce and a diverse production chain.
Rio Grande do Sul is internationally recognised for having quality programmes such as the Gaúcho Quality Programme, several industrial districts, technological parks, a solid technical teaching structure, universities and a good logistics network.
Based in Shiyan, in China’s Hubei province, Shiyan Yunlihong Industrial & Trade Co., Ltd. produces Dongfeng brand vehicles, including light and heavy goods trucks, buses, chassis, and trailers. (macauhub)
