The surveying and production arm of Angolan oil company Sonangol – Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção – is due soon to start drilling a well in the Cabinda Norte onshore oil block in Angola, which covers the municipal areas of Cacongo and Buco Zau, said the director of the block, Ernesto Pedro Taya.

According to Angolan news agency Angop, the director of the block also said that as the seismic studies had been concluded for the entire concession area the company was currently gathering together the equipment needed to start drilling the well.

Noting that some jobs would be created by the operation, Taya said that he planned to wait for the results of the test well before announcing the expected impact that the activity would have on the two districts of Cabinda province. (macauhub)
