The Lobito Cement Factory in Angola, owned by Portuguese group Secil, is due to have production capacity of 1 million tons per year when expansion work is concluded later this year, the company’s managing director, Augusto Viragal said.

Viragal also noted that the company currently had a production capacity of 300,000 tons per year and a single mill, a staff of 284 people which is not expected to change much when the new facilities start operating.

During a visit by the Secretary of State for Geology and Mines, Mankenda Ambroise, Augusto Viragal also said that the new production units would be good for the company because the equipment would be of the latest technology.

The Secil group bought the Lobito Cement Factory in 2004. It is located in Lobito bay in Angola. (macauhub)
