The Cimenfort factory, located in the Catumbela municipal area of Angola’s Benguela province, is due to launch production in May, project officials told Angolan news agency Angop.
The future factory, which is the result of an investment of US$100 million by Angolan company Genea Angola (http://www.geneaangola.com/), which operates in the real estate and construction sector, is currently receiving Chinese equipment, the officials said.
The board of directors of Cimenfort, a unit which will have an initial production capacity of 720,000 tons per year plans to use the facilities offered by the Benguela railroad to place much of its production in the southern Angola market.
Angolan news agency Angop also reported that in a second phase the cement factory would be expanded by installing another kiln, which would increase production to 1.2 million tons a year. (macauhub)
