4 June 2012

Sinotruk Brasil, which is a partnership between Brazil’s Elecsonic Comércio Ltd and the China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Corporation (CNHTC), has opened a new sales outlet in the municipal area of Duque de Caxias, in the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan region, the Brazilian press reported.

This is the second outlet in the state of Rio de Janeiro, where another one already operates in the city of Itaboraí. Sinotruk Brasil also plans to open another in the city of Santos, on the coast of Sao Paulo state, as part of the company’s strategy to cover the entire country.

The new showroom will offer the same services as at other Sinotruk points of sale, such as the one at São Bernardo do Campo, in Sao Paulo, which offers a range of services to freight companies to ensure best use and highest levels of productivity from Sinotruk trucks.

Joel Anderson, the managing director of Sinotruk Brasil, said that the target for this year, beyond increase the number of points of sale across Brazil, was to improve after sale services and to carry on with the network certification programme that began last February.

Sinotruk was founded in China in 1935. From 2003 to 2008 it had a partnership with Volvo and in 2009 it signed a strategic and technological partnership agreement with Germany’s MAN, which took a 25 percent stake in the Chinese company.

Elecsonic Comércio Ltd was set up in 2009 by 11 Brazilian partners from the automotive sector. Its headquarters are in the city of Campina Grande do Sul, in the Curitiba metropolitan region, in Paraná state. (macauhub)
