China’s Hebei Airlines buys five more Embraer 190 aircraft

China’s Hebei Airlines has bought another five Embraer 190 jet aircraft, due to be delivered by the end of 2013, the Brazilian aeronautical company said Monday in Farnborough, United Kingdom .

The deal, which was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, is worth US$226 million.

Heibei Airlines, which is based in Shijiazhuang, Heibei province, currently operates two E190s to eight destinations with round 70 flights per week.

Embraer has over 60 E190 jets in service in China, where the arrived in 2008.

The Brazilian company expects that over the next 20 years Chinese airlines will buy 1,005 jets with between 30 and 120 seats, and Embraer plans to secure 15 percent of that business. (macauhub)
