Casino gambling accounts for 99.64 pct of gross gaming revenues in Macau in first half

Gross revenues from casino gambling activities in Macau totalled 149.266 billion patacas (US$18.658 billion) in the first half of the year, and casino gambling accounted for 99.64 percent of the total with 148.729 billion patacas, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB) said.

The remaining percentage, or 537 million patacas, were revenues from dog and horse racing, Chinese and instant lotteries as well as betting on soccer and basketball games.

As usual VIP baccarat and baccarat accounted for most revenues – 135.536 billion patacas (US$16.942 billion) in total, and 104.853 billion patacas for VIP baccarat and 30.683 billion patacas for baccarat.

At the end of the first quarter of 2012 there were 35 casinos in Macau, 20 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, four by Venetian Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, three by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau) and one each by Wynn Resorts and MGM Grand Paradise. (macauhub)
