Cape Verde to have two hotels managed by the Hilton group

31 July 2012

The Hilton group will manage two hotels in Cape Verde, the first on Sal Island and the second, which was recently announced, in the capital city of Praia, according to weekly newspaper A Semana.

The first hotel unit managed by the group in Cape Verde, Hotel Hilton Sal, is scheduled to start being built in October. It is a luxury, three-story building that will be built between Hotel Crioula and Djad’ Sal, in the city of Santa Maria, said Nuno Martins, chief executive of Cabo Verde Investimentos.

The project is being carried out by French businessman Pierre Bastide, in partnership with tourism sector investor Jacques Monnier, which has led to the Hilton group entering the Cape Verde market, according to a document from the Cape Verde Consulate in Marseille, France.

The Hilton Hotels brand manages over 2,900 hotels in 76 countries and territories and in Africa the group operates in Morocco, Algeria, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Cameroon, and South Africa. (macauhub)
