The Mozambican government is drawing up specific regulations to open up the way for the active participation of Mozambican professionals in the oil and gas sector, the chairman of state oil and gas company Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), Nelson Ocoane said in Maputo.

During a debate on young people getting involved in the hydrocarbon industry in Mozambique, Ocoane said that the new regulations would promote direct participation of Mozambicans in the sector.

The event was an opportunity for young people to put forward specific proposals to be carried out within the oil and gas industry, and the president of the National Youth Council, Osvaldo Petersburgo, said that the initiative was intended to inform young people about the latest developments in the country in order to take advantage of existing opportunities in training and services.

“The mechanisms used to respond to the challenges brought about by the new reality brought about by discoveries in the country include specific training for the oil and gas sector,” he noted. (macauhub)
