A cement plant owned by Cimenfort Industrial is scheduled to start operating on 22 August, in the Catumbela municipal area of Angola’s Benguela province, the company said in a statement issued Tuesday in Luanda.
According to the statement, cited by Angolan news agency Angop, the plant will have an initial production capacity of 720,000 tons per year, which will be increased to 1 million when the second phase is concluded in 2013.
The factory, covering an area of 270 hectares, has modern equipment including a filter system that prevents dust from being released into the atmosphere.
Cimenfort Industrial is part of the Genea Angola group, which has been operating in the real estate and construction sector for almost seven years. (macauhub)
