The 20th edition of the International Business Fair (Expo Huíla-2012) began Wednesday in the city of Lubango with the participation of 130 Angolan and foreign companies, as part of the traditional Nossa Senhora do Monte festivities, celebrated on 15 August each year.
The event, which will be on until 19 August brings together companies from countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Namibia, as well as representatives from the provinces of Benguela, Luanda, Namibe and Huíla.
Expo-Huíla 2012 is organised by the Huíla Commercial and Industrial Agri-livestock Association (AAPCIL), and is expected to generate business worth at least US$2 million, according to Angolan news agency Angop.
At the 2011 edition, Expo-Huíla attracted over 10,000 people, including businesspeople and government officials, and deals done at the fair totalled US$3 million.
One hundred and thirty companies from southern Africa and some provinces took part in the fair, where businesspeople were able to set up several partnerships to develop their businesses. (macauhub)
